The future is expecting us.
We are Marshall B. Ketchum University. A comprehensive health care university, built upon a legacy of over 100 years of academic excellence and clinical training. Born as the Southern California College of Optometry, and expanded to offer a range of interprofessional programs and health care initiatives, from a School of Physician Assistant Studies to ensuring every child is vision-ready to learn.
This is an exciting time for healthcare, for medical innovation and education, and for our community.
We believe the future is bright, and look forward to advancing it together.
Our name, and what it stands for.
The founder of the Southern California College of Optometry, Marshall B. Ketchum, was a medical doctor, pharmacist, and passionate advocate for medical education. As we expand beyond our original emphasis on optometry, we continue to be driven by our founding values, and a renewed vision for meeting the nation's need for highly trained health care experts. Rooted in our heritage, but looking forward to the future, the name Marshall B. Ketchum captures the essence of that vision.
